Bee sting!! Ouch!!

My son, Jack (age 8), just came crying into the house screaming that he had been stung by a bee. He had been outside playing t-ball and went to get the ball next to our grape plants and BAM-bee sting right above his eye brow.

I put lavender and melaleuca on the sting. We also got him a bag of ice for the swelling. Looking at it now, about 10-15 minutes later, I see no swelling and he is sitting calmly on the couch waiting for America's Got Talent to start.

Man, I love this stuff. I didn't freak out-I knew what to do. Hooray for doTERRA!

Life Long Vitality

A friend of mine started taking doTERRA's Life Long Vitality nutrition supplements and had a very cool experience.

She told how she went to work and grabbed her "cheater" glasses for something she was looking at. It was all blurry. She thought that was weird. She took them off, then on, then off again and back on. She soon realized that she didn't need her "cheaters!" anymore. She also said that she had done nothing different in her daily routine but add the Life Long Vitality. Very cool!

A couple of weeks ago I started taking them. I feel like I have more energy and stamina. I also feel like it has helped me with my stress. The way I look at it... regardless of how we eat, a great nutritional supplement can only help our bodies do what they were designed to do. We are simply giving our body the tools it needs to keep us strong and healthy. That is a good thing!

Oils on Our Vacation

We just got back from an amazing vacation with family to Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. What a beautiful, amazing place! We had a GREAT time!

Of course, I took my oils with me and I was so glad that I did!

On the first day at our campground both my husband and my daughter got stung by a hornet! Ouch! I put lavender and melaleuca on the stings. Elsie was really scared by it all. I think the lavender helped the sting but also calmed her down. Within a short time she was off playing again and didn't say much about the sting. A few hours later we applied the oils again and that was the end of it. For my husband we used the lavender, and then added patchouli. I had read that patchouli helps with insect bites and snake bites.. It helped with the itching and soreness.

We also got a few mosquito bites. The lavender helped with the itching and swelling.

The first night we were camping our baby woke up during the night just screaming. Nothing seemed to calm her. Finally after about 30-40…

Bugs! Bugs! Bugs!

Tis the season for bug bites! I sent my 2 boys to scout camp last week armed and ready against all the mosquitoes waiting for them. Being the frugal gal that I am, I put several drops of the Terrashield blend in some glass spray bottles and then added lots of water. I learned a very valuable lesson. Use the Terrashield at full strength. The dilution didn't help much. However, Oliver told me that he sprayed his hand and arm and watched a mosquito come close then fly away. I think they would have been the only unbitten kids in the camp if I hadn't diluted the good stuff :)

For mosquito bites, I sent them with lavender. Henry went through a whole sample bottle. He loved it. He said he was wishing he had more to share with all of the kids that got bit so bad. That's my Henry.

My sister-in-law who lives out in the mountains text me the other day saying, "i LOVE doterra lavender on bug bites!..and I have a few! Lol"
